DIRECTIONS

Follow the A9 north from Inverness, and cross the low bridge over the Cromarty Firth.  At the roundabout follow the A9 sign for Wick and Thurso.  Continue along the A9 to Nigg roundabout (with sign for 4-car ferry), turn right and follow the road until you get to the sign for Pitcalnie/Balintore/Shandwick/Hilton.  Turn left and follow the road and then take the first main road right after the graveyard, signed Nigg Village.  Continue along this road (narrow in places) past Nigg Village Hall.  Follow the road until it is about to turn sharp right.  At this point there is a private entrance directly ahead with two stone pillars and a sign “Cromarty Petroleum Private Road”.  Drive through this entrance and continue along until the road turns left.  At this corner, you will see a white fence and the entrance driveway is directly in front of you.
